For all the praise that the announcers have been bestowing on Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, if they hadn’t won the Raw Tag Team Championships Sunday night, it might have been time for them to pack their bags and head back to New Japan.

Gallows & Anderson managed to capture the tag titles, their first WWE gold, by defeating the guys who ended the New Day’s record-setting title reign, Sheamus & Cesaro. The makeshift duo had begun gelling well in recent months, but you couldn’t really view them as much more than placeholders. They were a pretty decent team, but both are established singles stars, and it was time for one of the more established tag teams to win the straps.

Here’s hoping that Gallows & Anderson can live up to the billing they’ve been given and infuse some life into the tag division. If nothing else, we’ll give them finally winning tag gold a thumbs up.
