7 Ups And 2 Downs For WWE NXT (Jun 29)
1. Cole Goes Too Far With O'Reilly... Again
What should be the match on every fan's lips coming into The Great American Bash special next Tuesday night failed to get pulses racing once again last night.
Again, do not get your writer wrong, Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly are both terrific workers and will no doubt deliver yet another technically excellent showing in a week's time. But the programme's overall over-reliance on amateur dramatics and contrived tension has long since removed any desperate need to see them go to war one more time.
As O'Reilly clearly stated here as the two met face to face, under the watchful eye on Samoa Joe and his goons, he already battered his pal at TakeOver and sent him to the hospital. So, he already won this war, right?
Not even taking things up a personal notch once more by confessing that O'Reilly's wife knows that Cole is the reason behind all of his success in the business could heat up this stale broth. Though the sight of Joe watching on whilst the former NXT Champion screamed out in pain mid-heel hook was admittedly delightful. But again, Joe is the highlight of a feud he's not even technically a part of.
Let's just get this one in the books and move on. Deal?
