Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, who were recently signed to the NXT brand in a deal that will still allow them to work on the independent scene, had the match of the broadcast, teaming up to take on The Vaudevillains. Though the Vaudevillains have debuted on the main roster and are part of the Tag Team Championship number one contenders tournament, Gargano and Ciampa picked up a hard-fought win.

This run of NXT episodes was taped at WrestleMania Axxess on April 2, and that was a very busy day for Mr. Gargano. First, he opened the show at EVOLVE 59, teaming with Drew Galloway to defend the EVOLVE Tag Team Titles against Drew Gulak and Tracy Williams (and coming up short). Next, he popped over to NXT for this match - and potentially others. Finally, he headlined the WWN Mercury Rising Supershow, teaming with TJP and Kota Ibushi to defeat Marty Scurll, Will Opsreay, and Tommy End. All three bouts were great.

It was a lot of work, but if anyone's up to the challenge, it's Johnny Wrestling.
