5. Knight Loses Big, But Scores A Parting Blow

Utilising some of the Breakout Tournament talents in the wake of their departures from the bracket, Josh Briggs found himself with the opportunity to walk away with a cool $10K should he deal out some much-wanted punishment to Cameron Grimes during the pair's bout on last night's show.

However, LA Knight's investment soon came back to bite him on his Million Dollar ass when the OG Million Dollar Man challenged him to a double-or-nothing (another AEW namedrop?!) bet on commentary. If Grimes came away with the win, Knight owed the WWE Hall of Famer big-time. Sure enough, after overcoming an early onslaught from the powerful newcomer, Grimes was able to hit a running Spanish fly and Cave-In for the win.

It definitely made for a brief feel-good moment, albeit one that was abruptly cut short by a petulant Million Dollar Champion who lashed out at the living legend ringside and hit his TakeOver 36 opponent with a BFT shortly after.

This succeeded in delivering what it needed to. Grimes felt like a star capable of coming away with the win against a rival he's routinely failed to get the better of, but Knight also left the sort of sour taste in your mouth which demands some sizeable comeuppance on the TakeOver stage.

A later backstage segment involving Grimes finally rediscovering his mojo also sparked new life into those in attendance, suggesting that Grimes may just be the most over man in the building come TakeOver.
