7 Ups And 2 Downs From WWE NXT (Dec 2)
4. Pat McAfee Makes A Promise
With the Undisputed Era already sending out their battle cry via their night on the town video package earlier in the night, you had to think Pat McAfee would have a thing or two to say about his War Game opponents in his address later on in the night.
Wasting little time slamming the fans and the UE, after an honest tribute to Pat Patterson, McAfee blasted the group's rented tuxedos, boxed wine and the fact they were shuffled to the back of a restaurant in their little promo package because the owners were too embarrassed to advertise that the squad were eating there.
Clearly inspired by the UE's reflective period, however, McAfee spoke of how his team was put together by money due to him wanting to invest in greatness. The loud-mouth former NFL player then boasted about his unit running the place since they got in NXT, and even laughed off the idea of him being the masked man responsible for Pete Dunne's War Games advantage victory last week.
Seizing the mic mid-way through another stellar rant from McAfee, Dunne eventually let everyone know that the group were going to end the Undisputed Era at War Games, adding some menace to an otherwise chickensh*t heel spell on the stick from the team's leader.
In just one segment, McAfee made us pray for his bitter end at TakeOver, Lorcan and Burch exuded arrogance and added another piece of comedy gold to their presentation with their "Hell No!" joint responses, and Pete Dunne laid down an unsettling promise...one which you can guarantee he won't be wanting to break.
