7 Ups And 3 Downs From NXT TakeOver: The End

6. Strange, But The Right Call

After the steep and steady climb to the top of the mountain, you would assume that insanely popular NXT Tag Team Champions American Alpha would get a decent title reign. But alas, that wasnt to be, as Alpha dropped the straps back to The Revival, just two months after winning them.

That might seem like a bad call, but consider what this likely means: American Alpha probably will get called up as part of the brand split and debut in WWE next month. That would be the only reason to have Jason Jordan and Chad Gable lose their titles so quickly. They dont have a reason to hold onto them, and theyve established themselves as the most popular tag team in NXT, with or without the titles.

Also, The Revival is much more interesting as cheating champs than pursuing challengers. Theyve been great foils for Alpha, and they surely can do the same for another team. Considering that Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa beat The Revival recently, they would be in line for a feud with the new two-time champs right away.
