After spending the better part of the last year warring over various titles, territory, and just the right to call themselves the most dominant factions in NXT, the Legado del Fantasma/Hit Row epic appeared to reach its dramatic conclusion on the latest edition of multi-coloured madness.

Before Isaiah 'Swerve' Scott could even get his hands on Santos Escobar, though, Legado took it upon themselves to jump Hit Row in the car park, abducting Top Dolla, B-Fab, and from what was being suggested, Ashante 'Thee' Adonis earlier in the day. This left Scott alone to battle against his greatest enemy, stacking the deck well and truly against him coming into what was looking like his last hurrah on Tuesday nights.

The match itself, free from the usual faction interference for the most part, was a little belter. Scott unleashed his fury on the wily Escobar, jumping the former Cruiserweight champ before the bell and smashing him with a despicable back breaker early on. But it wasn't long before The Emperor of Lucha Libre hit back, relishing in spinebusting and pulverising the North American Champion with two knees to the face in the corner.

With the mid-card strap on the line, the inevitable Legado intervention was shockingly staved off by Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams of all people. The door opened for Scott to then knock his blood-rival challenger into a previously exposed turnbuckle before nailing the JML driver for a sensational victory.

But we weren't done there, for Hayes' true agenda revealed itself before long. This had all been a ruse designed to catch the NA champ in his most vulnerable state, and catch him he did. One near-fall and a wicked axe kick from the top rope later, Hayes had successfully cashed in his guaranteed title shot to melt the minds of all in attendance.

This was undoubtedly the right call. Hayes and Trick look set to hold down this new-look mid-card for the foreseeable, while Santos and Swerve both saved face in the manner of their defeats. A solid night's work all around.
