7 Ups And 3 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Oct 12)

2. Lash Legend's Limp Lashing Out

Your writer was admittedly a tentative fan of the first outing for Lashing Out with Lash Legend. The bite-sized show felt like a way of flipping the trite and dull "talk show segment" that has clogged up WWE TV for an age on its head.

Yet, despite that early success, this week's edition struggled to really go anywhere or build on the interest generated upon its inception. Poorly written Squid Game references - because, yay, pop culture - and lazy attempts to generate heat/start a rivalry by giving Tony D'Angelo the Lashing Out of the Week award quickly shuffled this eye-catching pallet cleanser into the background last night. Though Tony stuffing an unfortunate producer into a car trunk did earn a cheeky pop in the end.

Legend is undoubtedly charismatic and has some serious singing chops too from the looks of things, but she was unfortunately let down by some poor material and what looked like no real plan of action for the latest edition of Lashing Out.

Here's hoping the snippet show and its host can return to form next week.
