7 Ups And 3 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 39 Night 1

7. Mysterio Intros Pitch Perfect
This writer suggested a bit ago that if Dominik Mysterio really wanted to play the Eddie Guerrero hand to the hilt, he would have entered WrestleMania in a lowrider.
It turns out that’s what happened, but it was Rey Mysterio who entered the stadium via Snoop Dogg’s lowrider to Eddie’s theme. It was a perfect little tribute, especially after Rey dedicated a good portion of his Hall of Fame speech Friday night to Guerrero. It connected him to his longtime friend who sadly passed away 18 years ago.
Dom, meanwhile, gave us a full Hollywood trailer treatment, with a pre-taped video of him in prison being released from his cell and loaded up into a corrections van. This gave way to the van backing into the stadium and Dominik emerging… handcuffed and in a purple Mysterio mask. Holy crap.
The younger Mysterio would remove the mask (which resembled Rey’s mask from his Halloween Havoc classic against Eddie) and have officers uncuff him after being led through the crowd, clearly too dangerous to be left alone.
While it would’ve been nice to be 100% correct, we’ll take partial credit for the Eddie tribute and enjoy the intros nonetheless.
