7 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's NXT (April 15)

WWE's most "hey, look ever here!" show, since the last one.

Another quiet 7 days for professional wrestling, then?

Merely hours removed from WWE closing their eyes, hitting 'random selection' on the 2K20 character menu, and then just firing whoever came up, NXT had the unenvied task of putting on the most "Here guys! Look at this instead!" show seen in the company since that Crown Jewel.

But this is the company where the show must always go on. Doesn't matter if there's 30ft of snow outside, or the dismembered body of a journalist has been discovered, or you've just publicly binned off 30+ employees who have no other promotion to go to, there's television to be made goddamn it.

And, in fairness, it was pretty good television. Two official big-name debuts, the start of an exciting new tournament and, surely, this week, we were finally going to get something from Adam Cole and Velveteen Dream to make this NXT Championship situation feel like an actual NXT Championship situation? Right?

Either way, let's take a stroll to the USA Network and see what delights (or otherwise) the Black and Gold brand had in store for us...
