In addition to their matching up well persona-wise, Jason Jordan and Roman Reigns put on a solid opening match for the Intercontinental Championship Monday night.

Jordan hung with the champ for the entire match, making several comebacks and kicking out of some explosive moves. The outcome was never terribly in doubt, but Jordan made a strong showing by countering multiple Superman Punches and suplexing Reigns around a bit.

While Jordan has been playing the role of whiny tweener recently, his in-ring talent has not been questioned, which is smart. Having him nearly knock off Roman was good, but sooner or later, Jordan is going to need to lock down a significant win.
