2. McIntyre Gets 'Luger'-ed

Speaking of laughing off losses…

Drew McIntyre fought with the weight of the entire United Kingdom on his shoulders in the main event of the first PPV/PLE on “island” in 30 years. He came up short when Roman Reigns enlisted yet another family member to bail him out.

His reaction afterward? McIntyre joined Tyson Fury to sing karaoke-style to “send the fans home happy.” He did vow to win the title, but then immediately turned to celebrate with the fans and sing, brushing aside this devastating loss that should have at the very least pissed him off. Threatening to rip Solo Sikoa’s head off and pry the titles out of Roman’s hands would have sounded a lot better than badly sung Oasis.

It vaguely harkened back to Lex Luger defeating Yokozuna in their WWF Championship match at SummerSlam 1993 via countout and celebrating as if he had won the title, when in fact he didn’t. He looked like a geek, and then he proceeded to lose his title match at WrestleMania X and was ratcheted down the card.

McIntyre brushing off a significant loss – even one that came via cheating – two minutes later makes it look less like a real fight and more of a scripted defeat, and that’s never a good feeling.
