7 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 19)

4. Y2J Chews The Scenery

There are some who don’t care for Chris Jericho’s latest incarnation; they find his persona annoying. Those people are stupid idiots.

Jericho is closing out a fantastic renaissance year for his career, and he has been highly entertaining throughout. But some of his best work has come opposite Raw GM Mick Foley, a foil who can match Jericho’s off-kilter routine. Put the two together (along with Kevin Owens) and you occasional will strike gold.

Monday, Jeri-KO ragged on Foley for screwing up his cheap pop line (the GM thought they were still in Pittsburgh when they were in Columbus, Ohio), while Foley mocked Jericho’s pronunciation of “again.” The heels also insulted Ohio (the shark cage says “made in Ohio,” so it’s clearly junk). But when Mick locked Y2J in the shark cage (with Owens in the background urging Chris to get out of the cage the whole time), it went to a different level of silly.

Either you found that segment – complete with Foley searching through an overstuffed fanny pack – amusing or you didn’t. It’s understandable if you didn’t, but this writer has always had a soft spot for guys like Foley and Jericho with their humor,so this is an easy “up.”
