7 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 19)

3. The Feud Must Continue

Rusev Big Cass

The rivalry between Rusev and Enzo Amore & Big Cass started well enough, with Enzo first flirting with and then falling victim to Lana, who laid a trap for the loudmouth a couple weeks ago. It wasn’t a great moment for WWE – particularly because Enzo pursuing a married woman was being painted as the hero – but at least it was something different for motivation.

When Big Cass stepped up to defend Enzo’s honor (or lack thereof) at Roadblock, it looked like it could be a nice match to break the seven-footer out as a singles star – something that WWE probably would like to do at some point. Instead, we got a terrible countout win for Rusev Sunday.

Then on Raw Monday night, Cass refused to heed the referee’s commands, beating on the Bulgarian Brute while he was in the ropes well past the five count, drawing a DQ. And just like that, the match was over. Two days, two matches, two lame “finishes.”

That’s not to say that this feud is doomed, but unless they are going to deliver a really good payoff sometime soon, this rivalry is going to tank in the near future.
