TNA's Sacrifice 2026 pay-per-view on Friday night ended abruptly amidst concerns for the welfare of Steve Maclin. He was challenging Mike Santana for the promotion's World Title, but the match was stopped following a superkick spot that knocked the stuffing out of Maclin.

The referee immediately checked him over then signalled for medical help as Santana looked worried inside the ring and stared over at his downed peer. Later, it was reported that Steve had suffered a concussion during the superkick and had been unable to continue, but that hasn't been 100% confirmed at time of writing.

Doctors, officials and TNA President Carlos Silva all rushed to the scene as soon as it happened. Nobody was keen to take any chances with Maclin's health. Closing the show, Eddie Edwards (who is next in line to challenge Santana) came out to brawl with the reigning champion.

Santana eventually fought Edwards off, and the fans in attendance did get a nifty table bump to send them home happy. However, it's obviously a bummer that the planned TNA World Title match couldn't play out as expected, but the company had every right to take suitable precautions with Maclin.

The live crowd couldn't blame them for that.

PWInsider later reported that sources within the company said Maclin was distressed about the situation and confused backstage afterwards. Clearly, his health is the most important thing here, not the World Title match.

Fingers crossed he recovers ASAP.
