7 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 18)
3. A Missed Opportunity
We’ll praise the tag team triple threat match in a bit, but can we just offer a quick criticism here?
Yes, the Raw Tag Team Championship match already was booked, but having Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows eat the loss in a multi-team match again was just a disappointment. It also was a missed opportunity to possibly elevate the Good Brothers.
Gallows & Anderson were wronged last week when Sheamus & Cesaro abandoned them in an eight-man tag match, which they referenced. It felt like things were progressing toward a triple threat bout for the tag titles, but instead, we got the match Monday night with no titles on the line.
In the end, Gallows & Anderson did hit their Magic Killer on Seth Rollins, but Dean Ambrose saved, and the match continued. Eventually, Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds on Anderson and Sheamus stole the pin for the challengers at No Mercy. And just like that, we were once again talking about the head-to-head tag match instead of a possible triple threat for the gold.
Boooo.
