7 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Crown Jewel 2021
4. Brock, Roman Deliver Big Fight
WWE promised an epic battle between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, and despite the screwy finish, the two heavyweights had a pretty damn good match.
Lesnar, in the unusual role of de facto face, absorbed numerous Superman Punches and spears, and dished out a handful of German suplexes and an F-5 to nearly recapture the WWE Universal Championship.
Unlike many of Brock’s matches during his previous WWE runs, this match was a bit more dynamic. Sure, they weren’t going to work an armbar for two minutes, but this match had more depth than Lesnar’s most recent bouts.
Yes, the finish was really screwy – with a ref bump, Usos interference and a title belt shot – and that knocked it down a peg, but overall, this was a pretty good match. What a difference it makes when both men are really over with the fans, as opposed to one of them having “go away heat.”
