Crown that man!

Xavier Woods followed through on a longtime dream Thursday, besting Finn Balor in a solid match to win the King of the Ring tournament. The two had a really good little contest, complete with a series of near-falls and counters that built to a climactic ending with each avoiding the other’s finisher, then Woods nailing his diving elbow drop to capture the crown.

Woods has talked a lot about wanting to be King of the Ring, so this actually happening really is a huge deal for him. The joy in his eyes after winning was palpable. And let’s face it: King Xavier could be really entertaining.

Lastly, it’s great for Woods to get a singles recognition after his two fellow New Day buddies have won world titles. Just a great moment all the way around.
