7 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Raw (30 Oct - Review & Results)
1. Gunther’s Next Hot Babyface Challenger
Oh wait.
No, seriously. The Miz?
It’s impossible to make this up. The A-Lister emerged from a Miz TV segment Monday night as a presumed babyface wanting to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship after standing up to and being attacked by Imperium. Miz played the virtuous hero, dealing with Gunther’s bullying and fighting a losing 3-on-1 battle.
This isn’t to say that Miz can’t be a decent babyface. But after being little more than a comic heel for eons who just a few weeks ago was being used to put over Drew McIntyre’s heel turn, it’s a little difficult to buy in on Miz as a serious challenger, much less a viable challenger to end Gunther’s historic IC title reign.
Granted, developments later in the show made it clear that more wrestlers will be vying for that number one contender’s spot – with a four-way match announced for next week – but this still was quite the thing to stomach.
