7 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 19)
6. Triple Threat As A Plot Device
Ordinarily, having Mick Foley go back and review the tapes of the women’s #1 contender’s match and change the PPV title match again would simply be a negative and we’d just move on, blaming the GM for being indecisive and this becoming a little too convoluted.
But the writers worked a nice angle into the segment, with Dana Brooke pointing out that Bayley and Sasha Banks had pinned each other last week and that neither woman had earned a one-on-one Women’s Championship match. Foley said that that inspired him to make the Clash of Champions title match a triple threat, which further enraged Charlotte, who has been at odds with Dana in recent weeks.
While that didn’t factor into the women’s tag team match later, it was a nice touch to keep the frustration level of the champ high. If she loses her title on Sunday – especially if say Sasha pins Bayley – expect Charlotte to blame Dana and take it out on her.
