7 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 9)

4. The Right Call

Baron Corbin Raw
WWE

As much of an overall disappointment Baron Corbin has been on the main roster, he needed to win Monday night, and it came in the perfect manner.

Corbin teamed with Elias against his Extreme Rules opponent Finn Bálor and Bobby Roode. Baron naturally pinned Roode, but the Glorious One was in control until Elias ran in, forcing Bobby to dispatch him. That split-second distraction allowed the Constable to hit an End of Days for the win.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens at the PPV, especially since Baron has been putting Finn down as too small and not tough enough. If Bálor loses, it’ll just confirm that line of thinking, with an underachiever toppling a popular superstar.

But for Monday, having Corbin pick up the win was a smart move.
