7 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 22)

5. Joke Might Be Running Its Course

For a while this summer, the 24/7 Championship was one of the better parts of WWE programming.

R-Truth, Drake Maverick, Carmella and others really made it entertaining, with some very original spots for title changes: a golf course, an airplane, a hotel bed, and even an OB-GYN exam table.

But lately, the 24/7 title has reverted to just a series of rollups with either another wrestler or some minor celebrity or TV personality getting the title for a few minutes before Truth “wins” it back via rollup. It’s uninspired and becoming boring.

Monday, the Bollywood Boys distracted R-Truth so one of them could roll him up to capture the title, leaving Truth to wonder if he was seeing double or if there really were two of them. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t entertaining either. It just was there.

And that’s a bad sign. Hopefully they can get inspired, because otherwise they might have to rethink the title’s future.
