7. The Positive Side

As Roman Reigns said, he didn’t come out to announce he had leukemia to get sympathy, but the one positive aspect that came from his revelation was that fans finally could drop the veneer of disliking the guy because of his booking.

As mentioned earlier, this column has been critical of Reigns, but most of the time it’s due to his booking, not him as a person or a performer. It’s fair to assume many fans felt the same way, so when Roman announced his diagnosis, the response was universally of support. Reigns spoke of “whooping leukemia’s ass once again” and got quite a few cheers, and fans, who chanted “Thank you Roman!” during his promo, added a “Cancer sucks!” later on for good measure.

Hopefully when Roman returns, WWE does it right and he gets a proper run.
