7 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Money In The Bank 2018
5. Bliss Gets Her Crown
There was an internal debate over whether to put this as an “up” or a “down.”
On the one hand, Alexa Bliss has dominated the title scene on Raw and SmackDown during the past two years. She’s held the SmackDown or Raw Women’s Championship for 14 of the past 18 months. So she really didn’t need to be right back in the title picture via the Money in the Bank briefcase.
On the other hand, Bliss has been a tremendous villain who gets a great reaction from fans. She is the ultimate “mean girl,” the diminutive loudmouth who can back up her claims through any means necessary. So capturing the briefcase might seem like a negative because someone else could have benefited from it, but you can’t penalize Bliss when she will be a credible person to hold it.
And of course, Bliss would prove worthy of holding the briefcase before the night was out, so there you go. Her cash-in was a noteworthy moment, and the third-quickest cash-in in MITB history.
