7 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Raw (June 22)

4. Wait, So Edge Wasn’t Already Unleashed?

Let’s get this straight. Randy Orton hit a one-man conchairto on Edge, nearly ending his comeback before it really got started. He hit a vicious RKO on his wife Beth Phoenix. And then Orton and Edge had a Last Man Standing match that saw Edge use his own one-man conchairto to win the bout.

But somehow Edge was still reserved during all of that? Because a low blow and a punt to him, and a punt to Christian last week is what it took to awaken the Rated-R Superstar and allow him to do whatever it takes to get revenge? Now it’s personal?

It just doesn’t comport… or compute. You can understand what they’re going for here, trying to say that Edge has been pushed to his limit and will sink to any depth to get revenge. But combine that they’ve already had the no-DQ bout set up in part by the heel attacking the hero’s wife, and the fact that Edge is now on the shelf, and this just doesn’t add up.

If you can make better sense and see the brighter side of things, please share in the comments. While Edge’s promo was pretty good, it just didn’t ring true. So, points for the promo itself, but minus points for making it sound like he was holding back and not sufficiently fired up heading into the match.
