7 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Raw (June 22)

3. More Zzzzzzz….iggler

Dolph Ziggler Drew McIntyre

There was a time when Dolph Ziggler was the talk of the wrestling underworld, a popular midcarder whom fans wanted to break through into the upper ranks of WWE.

But in recent years, Ziggler has become a parody of himself in many ways, uninspired and tired. He most recently was on the losing end of a feud with tag team wrestler Otis on SmackDown, and we learned Monday night that he and tag partner Robert Roode were the “players to be named later” in the trade that sent AJ Styles to the blue brand.

And immediately, Dolph has been thrust into a world title program with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. Because apparently losing a feud to Otis and being uninteresting for a good long time is a recipe for a world title shot.

Is anyone buying Ziggler as a credible challenger?
