5. All That Buildup

We kind of knew that building up the IIconics as challengers to the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship was going to be a letdown, but wow, that was a big wet fart.

Weeks of Peyton Royce & Billie Kay making the case for them being credible challengers to Sasha Banks & Bayley dissipated in just over 5 minutes as Sasha overcame both with Bayley knocked off the apron. This wasn’t even a “the heel champs did something underhanded to win” deal. Banks booted Kay as the IIconics went for their tandem finisher, and slapped on the Banks Statement to make Peyton tap out.

It was just such a short, nothing match that was forgotten seconds after it was over. And when you get that sort of thing after weeks of buildup, it makes you wonder why you even tried to get invested in the first place.
