7 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Raw (June 22)

6. Getting DZ

Dolph Ziggler Drew McIntyre

While we’ve effectively trashed the idea of Dolph Ziggler jumping over to Raw from SmackDown and immediately challenging for the WWE Championship, let’s look at one potentially positive aspect of this rivalry.

Ziggler and Drew McIntyre were a successful tag team a couple years back, winning the Raw tag titles and teaming up with the likes of Braun Strowman and others to fight The Shield. Dolph brought McIntyre to Raw (up from NXT), marking a major milestone in Drew’s redemption story as he returned to the company that fired him a few years earlier.

Now, Dolph could play up the idea that he knows McIntyre’s weaknesses, and maybe he even exposes one or two in the coming weeks. Or he could talk about how he knows how to get inside the champion’s head after driving up and down the road so much.

There are a couple interesting routes they could go here that wouldn’t be entirely bad. The question is, can the writers actually execute this?
