2. A Clever, Explosive Finish

Far too often, high-profile WWE matches end with distraction finishes or some shenanigans. But Monday night, we got a pretty nice finish to the opening bout.

Drew McIntyre and Dean Ambrose had a pretty good little match going, with Ambrose continuing to show off a little more mat wrestling than he did pre-injury, working McIntyre’s leg. The Scottish Psychopath countered with some hard-hitting moves himself, but Dean would put himself into harm’s way with an errant dive off the top of the ringpost that hit the barricade.

McIntyre rolled back into the ring and simply waited while the referee counted. Ambrose sprung back in at 9 and stood up, and McIntyre pounced with a Claymore for the clean victory. It was a perfect way for Drew to get a big win, but one in which Ambrose didn’t look like he was overmatched, just outplayed at that juncture.

This would be an interesting match-up if given a PPV slot. Just saying.
