Through the melee of the 12-man tag match Monday night, it was the cohesive unit that is the Club that stood tall, winning the match for their side. It might have been predictable, but it also was helpful in reinforcing a simple point the wrestlers themselves made: The Club has been together for some time and fought alongside each other many times, while John Cena, Enzo Amore & Big Cass were teaming for the first time.

That’s why it made sense that Enzo accidentally clocked Cena and then ate a Styles Clash to lose the match. The two were in their first match together and aren’t a unit. It might be a little cliché, but sometimes you have to make that point visually, not just verbally.

As for what that might mean on Sunday at Battleground, conventional wisdom says that the team that loses on Raw then goes on to win at the PPV. But WWE could be setting the stage for more miscommunication between Cena and Enzo & Cass leading to the Club continuing to look strong as a unit. That would certainly make sense and follow through on the message of team cohesiveness from Raw.
