7 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw

Ups...

7. GMs Do Battle

As much as the choice of Mick Foley was questioned earlier (and given a very light “down”), you’ve got to take your hat off to Mick and Daniel Bryan for their exchange toward the end of Raw.

The two met backstage and needled each other about how they both were underdog champions who don’t like to lose, that there would be healthy competition against each other, and how they resembled each other – aside from one being bulbous and the other being undersized. It was a perfectly effective way for two babyface non-wrestlers to convey tension without either one looking like a villain. That’s a tough thing to pull off, but this segment did the job.

It’ll be interesting going forward to see how Bryan and Foley interact (if at all) and whether one of them starts to show some shades of gray. If that were to happen, the smart money would be on Mick having Stephanie McMahon rub off on him.
