In what felt like a theme Monday night, Raw’s first match pitted Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens against Sami Zayn and Cesaro in a tag match to set up the “final” battle between KO and Zayn, and it did so effectively.

The former friends didn’t interact too much during the bout, but when they did, fans became more interested in what was happening. That’s how you know you’re doing something right in a feud. There also was a great moment in the match when Sami was draped across the middle rope and KO kicked him in the head behind the ref’s back, then posed to the crowd next to a stunned Zayn, giving a thumbs-up. Brilliant.

In the end, Zayn got a much-needed win over Jericho via rollup, sending both men into Battleground on a high note (Owens beat Cesaro last week) and keeping both men looking strong.
