7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 5)

6. Authority Drama

Semi-serious question here: Does anyone really care about the back-and-forth between Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon? Does anyone care about whether she’s still the girl with the “shy smile” Foley remembers after Hell in a Cell? Or if she’s really a heel or a slowly turning sympathetic character?

The answer likely is a resounding “no,” because Foley will never wrestle again, and Stephanie has monopolized so much of Raw over recent years that she’s worn out her welcome when she becomes the center of attention yet again. There’s nothing wrong with authority figures getting TV time and making matches and whatnot. They can be an important part of advancing storylines.

But two segments dedicated to tension between Mick and Stephanie? The two authority figures arguing over who should make matches and whether they support each other? Come on. It just gets annoying after a while.
