7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 12th)

1. Ziggler Shows An Edge

People are going to say that John Cena beating Dolph Ziggler is a travesty, that if Cena is indeed taking a two-month vacation from WWE, he should lose a match like Monday€™s bout. It doesn€™t necessarily look like this will be the only encounter between the two popular stars, and more importantly, Monday€™s match sowed some more seeds. Last week, Ziggler inadvertently superkicked Cena while trying to fend off the New Day. This week, Dolph did a couple small things to show that he might be moving in a different direction finally. First and most obvious, he raked Cena€™s eyes to avoid the Attitude Adjustment. He also channeled Shawn Michaels and cued up his superkick much in the same way that HBK did before Sweet Chin Music. Ziggler also dropped his 10 rapid-fire elbows, a move he stopped doing around the time he became a fan-favorite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYIvRhOug-E It certainly looks like WWE could be moving toward a Ziggler/Cena match for Hell in a Cell, with Dolph maybe resorting to more heelish tactics. While Ziggler is very popular right now, he€™s been floundering for some time and needs to have an edge. The white meat babyface role doesn€™t get you very far (unless you€™re Cena), so even little tweaks are welcome changes.
