7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 12th)

2. Out With The Old, In With The New Day

When Big E said New Day was the best thing going in WWE today, he wasn€™t using hyperbole. The trio has been one of the most consistently entertaining parts of Raw, and Monday was no exception. The group expertly put down Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton, shredding the Viper by noting that he€™s been in so many factions (Authority, Evolution, Legacy) that he gives new meaning to the term €œgroupie.€ Thankfully, WWE writers have been smart about booking New Day in high-profile matches against top-level stars. In the past, tag team champs have been treated as cannon fodder for main eventers, but New Day managed to use their continuity and numbers game to steal a victory over a 12-time world champion and a talented upper-card player. It also helped that Big E and Kofi Kingston hung in there during the match and didn€™t look like they won when Orton slipped on a banana peel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm7eCtnb6SY New Day has showed over the past couple months that they deliver both on the mic and in the ring, and they€™ve been allowed to do what they want, and that€™s what€™s getting a good reaction from the crowd. It€™s definitely a high point of the show when they€™re on the screen.
