Ah, the bathroom break match in the form of a three-minute Divas match. Crazy to think this went on well into 2015. In 2002, it is in full throttle mode, as Trish Stratus loses her Women’s Championship to Molly Holly in a nothing affair.

What’s most galling about this segment is the story behind it. Molly had recently returned to RAW with a new, “prudish” look (i.e. she wasn’t dressed like a complete skank). Moreover, in her heel persona, she talked down to the other Divas who used their bodies to get over, and that she was going to represent a new wave of women wrestlers who brought class and dignity to the division. The absolute monster! How dare she think women should be able to succeed in life without being objects of male sexual lust? Hopefully our brave hero Trish gets her revenge and then shows off them puppies to our adulation, amirite boys?

Seriously though, when stories like these are the best you have for your women, it’s a sign of creative bankruptcy. And it’s not gonna get better anytime soon for this division.
