7 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Survivor Series 2019

Downs...

8. Battle Royal Nonsense

OK, so the cross-branded tag team battle royal (try saying that fast three times) did count toward the overall tally of Raw versus SmackDown versus NXT matches for the night, but really, did anyone actually care or pay attention?

The match breezed by with teams getting eliminated about every minute with no real rhyme or reason. The end came down to The OC, Street Profits and Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler, the latter pair emerging victorious.

The crowd was pretty silent for much of the match, only coming alive for the Street Profits at the end (so or course, they were eliminated last), and some “CM Punk” guy.

Wouldn’t it have been 20 times better to do something as simple as put a tag title shot on the line as a prize to the team that wins? Winning team score a point for their brand (which is the real prize here!), but they also get a tag title shot later this week. Easy.

But apparently, that’s too much thinking for the 37 writers to work out.
