4. So Much For Building Up The Club

Seriously, what the actual hell was that?

For the past couple weeks, it looked like WWE was serious about rebuilding Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson as no-nonsense a**-kickers who were going to wreak havoc on the tag team division. And then Anderson got stomped in about 90 seconds by Big Cass Monday night and the Club retreated quickly.

This isn’t a knock against Cass winning a singles match. That sort of thing could make perfect sense and could have been done well, perhaps with Corey Graves noting after a 5-minute back-and-forth match that Cass clearly is the difference-maker and that the Club needs to isolate Enzo Amore in any tag match. Even that simple rationale would advance a storyline for a future tag match between the teams.

Instead, Cass shrugged off an Anderson kick to quickly finish with the East River Crossing, making Anderson look like a joke. Some of Braun Strowman’s opponents have lasted longer.
