5. Nothing Better To Do

You almost get the feeling Vince McMahon was looking around backstage during the Braun Strowman match, spotted Sami Zayn and threw him out onto the entrance ramp to confront the “mountain of a man.”

Strowman has spent nearly three months beating up local talent in more and more impressive fashion, slowly getting a better reaction from fans and looking a little more comfortable in the ring. But to then throw Sami Zayn in there against him seems like it’s skipping a few steps. Zayn is a credible opponent for either the United States or Universal Championships and a huge fan favorite. Fighting Strowman isn’t exactly career advancement right now for him.

Consider that most likely, Sami will lose any such feud. We shouldn’t count that entirely against Zayn or Strowman – for Braun to become a legit threat, he clearly has to beat other name wrestlers. It’s just frustrating to see Sami stagnating for so long and then presumably be given a program with a guy who needs to beat him more than vice-versa.
