7 Ways To Add Intrigue To Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena Rematch

5. If Cena Loses, No More Championship Matches For One Year

Similar to his storyline with The Rock where John Cena doubts himself and is driven by his all-consuming need to overcome his rival, viewers need to see him truly pushed to his limits mentally and emotionally over the destruction he suffered at the hands of Lesnar at SummerSlam. This is a man who has miraculously conquered every obstacle in his path with superhuman-like efficiency. It€™s time to see him broken and vulnerable. And not in the usual smirky, forgotten-about-in-a-week John Cena manner, but truly vulnerable in a way we€™ve never seen that character. As a means of pushing himself further, John should come out on Raw and state that he is willing to put his opportunities for the WWE World Championship on the line. If he loses the rematch to Brock Lesnar, he will not be allowed another shot at the title for a period of no less than one year. Ideally you would make the length of time longer, but with the fluidity of WWE being what it is, It€™s impossible to predict where the company may be a couple of years down the line and Cena on top could be a dire need. But with the Roman Reigns push in full swing and Dean Ambrose catching fire like he has as well as a hopefully returning Daniel Bryan, WWE should be confident in keeping him away from the belt for 12 months. It€™s also a promise to the fans that this is the dawn of a new era.
