7 Ways To Make WWE More Exciting

4. Eliminate Promos That Main Event A TV Show

Whether you call them contract signings, face to face showdowns or "addressing the WWE Universe" these are all things that are fine throughout an episode of Raw, but don't make it the main event of a show. In September 2011, I went to a Smackdown taping that was a talk show segment with Edge (he was retired) hosting Mark Henry and Randy Orton leading up to their PPV match. It was a decent segment at best. As the main event of a show it was pretty bad. If it was in the middle that's fine, but not in the main event. This past week on Raw, they spent three hours hyping up a contract signing between The Shield and Evolution. It ended up just being another way to say that they were going to brawl to end the show. They just had to get to that point by saying it was a contract signing. There's nothing wrong with doing angles to end Raw. That's something that has to be done to help tell the stories that WWE wants to push, but when you spend three hours hyping up a promo segment it can lead to a lot of boredom.
