WWE's Network has been a major point of controversy and discussion over the past week. That is due to the company's money woes that have made all the headlines and investor frustration that the network is not delivering the numbers that WWE claimed it would. What better way to help alleviate some of that by recruiting The Rock to help sell the network to the masses? The fact is that WWE fans know about the network. It's common knowledge and by now you either have it or you don't. But for the mainstream audience that may only be casual fans, buying the network may not exactly be a high priority. What about the other segment, non-fans that only know about WWE because of The Rock? This is the area that The People's Champ can reach. Imagine The Rock going on a presser for his latest movie and during an interview, he mentions the WWE Network. Or imagine Rocky actually hosting a program on the network, a program that is hyped on WWE programming for a solid month before it happens. The Rock is by far the most successful crossover star that WWE has ever produced. He reaches people that WWE does not and his influence can potentially transform many of those people into fans. Getting more eyes on the network could be the first step to making that happen.
