A winning streak spanning from his draft onto Raw on 19 July 2016, all the way to 5 March 2017. That is approximately 230 days without suffering a pinfall (albeit "losing" a few via other methods). For comparison, Goldberg’s streak was about double that at 462 days. But the intended result was the same. Or at least, started out that way at the beginning.

Braun lost it to Roman which (much like Nash beating Goldberg at Starrcade) made sense from the standpoint of it being a big name. But the problem was the payoff to this was nonexistent. Braun went on to get squashed by Brock when he finally got his chances at the title both times.

WWE need to hit the reset button here. They need to take a page from WCW’s playbook (albeit probably without inflating his record) and give Braun a proper undefeated streak. And not against a bunch of jobbers and nobodies either.

That is what made Goldberg so special back then. He was squashing EVERYBODY including the main roster. No normal man could defeat him, and even Raven and his flock as a group couldn’t get the job done. It took a TASER to finally put down Goldberg, furthering the image of him as more beast than man.

And with Goldberg spearing the sternum off of Dolph Ziggler recently, WWE seems to still know what type of reputation he should maintain. Now they just need to do the same with Strowman. Including...
