The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers was a change of pace for the reigning SmackDown Tag Team Champions, as Harper and Rowan looked to be in true jeopardy for the first time since rebranding.

Big E and Xavier Woods pushed their limits, resulting in a fun, all-action sprint of a bout with plenty of big bumps. Woods' elbow drop to the outside was a highlight, but a disappointing finish followed. Harper, sensing the danger, grabbed his goofy hammer, battered Big E as he and Xavier were going for the Midnight Hour, and the referee called for the disqualification.

A detrimental move, as this was comfortably the Bludgeon Brothers' best title fight so far, and was en route to becoming something great prior to the finish. The hammer spot detracted from it, though. On a night rife with dirty, shenanigan-filled finishes, the least WWE could've done was let two talented teams with excellent chemistry show their best work, but it wasn't to be.

Though this will likely lead to a rematch, surely WWE could have kept things open for a second without detracting from the first?
