7 Ways WWE Should Continue Buddy Murphy’s Push
1. Challenging (And Losing To) Kofi Kingston
In no way does this mean Buddy is ready for a WWE Championship run at this stage in his career. There are a lot of dues left to pay along the way before that happens. We don’t need to have another Jinder Mahal-esque overnight push to the top of the card.
But think about the statement it would make to just let him go after it. This can also tie in with almost any of the other ideas previously mentioned. If he beats Daniel Bryan, that is who Kofi struggled to get the championship from in the first place.
He beats Roman Reigns in a feud over the car crash? Well, that is one of WWE’s biggest stars in the main event picture. And this could easily be used as a reason to give him the number one contendership.
Buddy joins The OC? They’re going to need somebody on SmackDown helping them capture as much gold as they can. Does Murphy win the Intercontinental Title from Shinsuke? Let him try to become Buddy Two Belts. All the threads can be connected to here, taking on Kofi for the gold.
Sure, him winning it may be a bit early. But building him up properly to be a contender is the main goal anyway. Kofi needs some better heel competitors, as we know. And somebody of Murphy’s talent could go to war with Kingston. And we could use a jolt of energy after that slow non-finish with Orton, right?
All in all, there are many directions to go with Buddy Murphy moving forward. But the main hope is just simply that: they keep him moving forward.
Murphy’s Law need not apply here.
