7 Women Who Won Men's Wrestling Titles

7. Princess Kimber Lee - CHIKARA Grand Championship

Season 15 was a strange one for CHIKARA, the promotion's first in the post-resurrection story landscape. The season was taken up mostly by a tournament called the Challenge of the Immortals, as a number of four-person teams did battle over the course of many weeks. Princess Kimber Lee defied the odds throughout, eventually leading Jervis Cottonbelly and Los Ice Creams (collectively known as Crown and Court) from the bottom of the table to the final.

The odds-defying continued in the final as Crown and Court defeated the dastardly Devastation Corporation, earning the Princess a shot at the CHIKARA Grand Championship whenever she saw fit. That same night (CHIKARA Top Banana) saw Hallowicked defend the Grand Championship against Eddie Kingston and Icarus, seemingly ending season 15 on top.

Kimber Lee had other plans, and she chose to immediately cash-in her shot. What followed was one of those wonderful cash-in type matches, where every move is hit with a certain desperation and the tension is palpable throughout. Hallowicked's Nightmare Warriors tried to get involved, but Cottonbelly and Los Ice Creams fought them off.

Kimber Lee locked in the CHIKARA Special, and for the first time in history the CHIKARA Grand Championship was held by a woman. It was a unique time, as Heidi Lovelace was also the Young Lions Cup holder. Kimber Lee would hold the title for five months before losing it back to Hallowicked at Aniversario: The Lost World.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
