7 Women Who Won Men's Wrestling Titles

6. Terri Runnels, Molly Holly (And More) - WWE Hardcore Championship

The WWE Hardcore Championship will go down in history as one of the most ridiculous titles in all of pro wrestling, a completely throwaway belt that changed hands more times in four years than the Intercontinental Championship has in 37. The Hardcore Championship saw 240 different reigns, some of which lasted mere seconds.

As such, it is no surprise that a number of females held this most ridiculous of titles. Four women found themselves in the right place at the right time to pick up a victory and win the Hardcore Championship, but not a single one managed to end the night as champion.

Trish Stratus won the championship after blasting Crash Holly, before being taken out herself by Stevie Richards. It was Richards who found himself on the receiving end of the pinfall when Terri Runnels became champion in May 2002, Terri holding the championship for a grand total of nine seconds before dropping it back to Richards.

A member of the Godfather's Ho Train also won the title, pinning Crash Holly and being champion for 15 seconds before Crash reclaimed the title. Finally, Molly Holly won the title at WrestleMania X-8 during what was a manic night for the championship, pinning The Hurricane before being pinned by Christian.

None of these women held the title for more than a matter of minutes, but they still did better than Shawn Stasiak. Poor Meat held the title on 15 occasions, with his total cumulative days as champion coming in at a whopping zero.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
