7 Women Who Won Men's Wrestling Titles

3. Sexy Star - Lucha Underground Championship

Lucha Underground isn't afraid of mixed gender wrestling, and whilst it doesn't always get it right, there have been a number of occasions where they have. Sexy Star and Ivelisse have been the two standout female performers on the El Rey show, both working hard to perfect a style of working from underneath.

Ivelisse is the better performer of the two, but as of writing she only has a Lucha Underground Trios Championship run to show for it. Injuries haven't helped either, but the former Sofia Cortez has been involved in enough stories to distract her from chasing the top title.

Only six individuals have held the Lucha Underground Championship, and Sexy Star's name is up in lights among them. She was the shocking name to follow The Monster Matanza Cueto as champion, defeating Mil Muertes at the last during Aztec Warfare III. Sexy had previously held the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Championship, losing that strap to Johnny Mundo.

It was Mundo who defeated Sexy Star one week later to dethrone the brief champion.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
