2. Country Whipping Match

It probably didn€™t help that this match involved three members of its announce teamtwo of which had never even been professional wrestlers in the first place.

But still, as if they couldn€™t make things any worse, the completely unanticipated tag team match pitting Jack Swagger and Michael Cole against JR and Jerry Lawler was given a country whipping match stipulation.

Exactly; what even is that?

The rules stated that this was essentially a traditional tag team match-up, with the exception that the use of a leather strap was entirely legal. This meant that for the most part, the match simply degenerated into the legal men whipping one another back and forth. It wasn€™t very compelling.

That being said, when the action did develop into something resembling wrestling, Cole and JR€™s complete lack of training made it pretty difficult to watch. That€™s not necessarily their fault though given that they€™re journalists by trade.

JR would later describe the match as €œhorrible€ on Twitter, and I think that€™s the fairest summary that could be provided in all honesty.
