6. Jobbing On The Way Out

Back when WCW was around, it made sense for a wrestler to lose some matches on the way out of their respective company. That way it looked like the competition isn't getting the best of the best, they're getting a loser! Of course, WCW is long dead, but WWE continues on having their talent job out on the way to their new home...which is the same home, just on another night.

Perhaps the worst example of this was years ago when Muhammad Hassan had a bit of an undefeated streak going on Raw. He was then booked to take on John Cena, and was effectively squashed by him. Then he showed up on SmackDown, and we were supposed to take him super seriously again, even though it had just been proven he wasn't all that good.

Well, now Kevin Owens, Charlotte, The Miz, and Jind-roid Mahal all did the favors on the way out, and yet, each of their arrivals was supposed to be an amazing business decision. While Owens can likely talk his way out of the loss, Charlotte's was a complete head-scratcher, because, on SmackDown, they treated her arrival as a major coup. Shouldn't Shane McMahon be upset that he didn't trade for Nia Jax instead? Charlotte was basically squashed (and nearly killed) by her!

In the future, just don't make it so obvious that someone is about to leave by having them lose so decisively. It doesn't work out well for anyone.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
